Coach Gaskill
Logan Gaskill
Born and Raised in Emporia, KS. Wrestling has been a part of Logan’s life since the age of 6. Growing up he was never the best wrestler. He spent a lot of time getting pinned and feeling like a ghost during kids wrestling practice. This was very upsetting to him and made him want to quit plenty of times, but his Parents never let him quit and always pushed him to “Finish it out”. With a strong will to learn and a drive to perfect anything he has ever tried, he finally succeeded in his dream in becoming a State Champion. After High School, Logan continued to pursue his career in wrestling with a new dream of becoming an All-American with the new Wrestling Program at Baker University. The week before the first tournament he fell to the ground during a practice with intense pain in his knee, later to find out he has a genetic deformity in his knee ending his competitive career. In 2014, Logan was living in Wisconsin and ended up taking a coaching position in Kenosha, Wisconsin with the Tremper High School team. While being there he learned a lot about coaching and he missed being back in the wrestling room. Logan only spent one season with the Tremper High School team and Kids Club. After 9 Years, he is getting back into coaching and is very excited about a new generation of Spartan Wrestling. He wants to offer a new level of wrestling to the community of all ages and skill sets.
Coach Sanchez
Chase Sanchez
Born in western Kansas. In middle school Chase’s family moved from their hometown of Ulysses to Emporia. Chase started his wrestling career at the age of 6 and has still shown his commitment to the sport. He has always had a strong passion for winning and being the best he can be with a confidence in himself that is unmatched by others. He has always worked hard and has always shown sheer talent in the wrestling room with a natural sense for the sport being a 2x Kids State Champion, Fargo All American, and a High School State Champion. After High School, he went on to wrestle at Bethany College at the collegiate level. In 2018 he stepped into some loafers instead of the typical ASICS, but continues to show his skills and knowledge of the sport to the Emporia Community by coaching.
